The Final Images

Here are my two final images for fantasy and beauty with 'Magic Poison' and the colours 'Green and Red'.

Overall I have enjoyed this project and I like seeing how everything comes together for the final images, I changed the make up a couple of times during this shoot as I had used a brown shadow underneath the eye and along the top of the green. This I decided looked too much underneath and would not come up how I would like on the camera. I'm glad I made the decision to take this off as I am much happier with the final photos without that. I would like to see what else could be produced from given colours and words I think its a fun and interesting way of creating a look.

Beauty Shoot

I used the same model for my beauty shoot as I thought it would be good to compare both fantasy and beauty of magic poison using my colours. I gave her a toned down version of the green eye shadow on her eyes, and kept the red lipstick. I considered giving her red eyebrows but I thought given it was a beauty shot I kept them relatively natural using just a light brown and also keeping them thinner. I didn't use any black eye liner on the bottom, just some false eyelashes again on top.
For her hair I pinned the left side back and used the straighteners to make a slight curl at the bottom of her hair. I think Laura looks really pretty and the green eye shadow definitely suits her normal eye colour as well as the green and red going quite well together.

Make Up

I started my look using Illamasqua's rich liquid foundation consisting of a mix of tan along with the white so the skin could be paled down for when I could contour the face with green shadows.

Then using a green powder eye shadow I went round the face going heavily onto the cheek bones. I also used this same colour to go round the eyes and a lighter green through the middle for shading.

I used the red eye shadow for the eyebrows which I found went on quite easily and I had considered using a pencil or even supracolour. Along the top of the eyebrows I put thin line of white shadow, and also underneath her eye.

To finalize the eyes I used a pair of false eyelashes to give them a longer and more fantasy effect as they go longer at each end which were quite fairy like.

Finally I used a bright red lipstick, and also went round that with a red lip pencil to give a fuller more defined look.

Fantasy Shoot

I am pleased with my final images but if I had the chance to re-do my shoot I would have definitely done the make-up more dramatic, the greens were quite hard to come up under the studio lights camera, I also think that it does look very similar to my face template though which is mainly what I was going for but I would make changes and reconsider my designs if I was to do the make-up again.
I think I could have done more with the eyes, and this shot could have generally be more beauty over the fantasy side.

Final Design

This is my final development of my other design, I have changed the eyebrows to be more rounded and now her face is not fully in green I have decided to just contour round the edge and heavily on the cheekbones. I kept the red lips the same and very similar green eye shadow.

For the hair I have the front pulled back to the head with the rest back combed and sticking up.

Face Templates 2

This was my first design idea I have used dark green shadow starting from the inner eye and fading into a lighter green with red eyebrows, and also red blush to contour the cheeks. I want bright red lips with a shadow of green to follow down the neck. I decided I would like to develop this further.

This is my second design, I am a lot happier with this. I would like the whole face to be a pale green and contoured around the whole face in a darker green, i will do this by mixing my green eyeshadow with Illamasqua's rich liquid foundation, again I will have a red blush along the cheekbones and red lips. The eyes I made more dramatic with darker shades of green going up to the eyebrows and also following down the nose. I like the idea of red eyebrows so I have decided to keep that the same. I am also considering using red gems or stones to create this effect.

Poison

Researching into 'Poison' along with the colour green really helped me to be inspired for my next look...
Poison Ivy. So I then went to look into photos of other make up looks similar to this idea.

Even Kim Kardashian has dressed to the part.

With this in mind I will now sketch some ideas to see what I can come up with.

First Shoot

I used a model with long dark brown hair which I like as the make up wasn't necessarily glamorous the hair could help to give this effect.

These are the photos from my first shoot.

I found this shoot quite hard, I didn't realise how steady my hand would need to be for the drips under the eye, I think this really let me down with the quality of make up. The eyebrow was also tricky because she had them quite thick, my first attempt I was unhappy with, but I tried again doing a thinner black squiggle which I then thought looked a lot better. I put all of her hair in rollers before starting the make up to give love thick curls and waves, I believe I should have chosen a better hair design as the top of the hair looks quite flat. My images haven't turned out how I would have liked which is quite disappointing, so I think I am going to reconsider my designs for a second shoot!

Face Templates

These are a couple of my designs I plan to do on my model who I have chosen.

This last one I decided was my favourite development from my face templates. I have chosen to do the blocking out of one eyebrow to create a higher lift with a squiggle design replacing it, I then have the dark eyes fading out with eyeshadow and the black drips coming from the bottom eyelid. I like this idea as I think poison is usually in liquid form, the drips I want to be in black so they stand out on the face. I would like to pale the skin down with a light foundation, and have a small bit of pink blush on the cheekbones. For her lips I have decided to go for a dark purple.

Theatre Of The Nameless

Illamasquas collection 'Theatre of the nameless' gave me lots of inspiration for my look, here are some of their images.

I love the dark pink eyes and again the bold black eyebrows! Also the first picture how they have been made into a squiggle I thought looked amazing.

I liked these images as I think they could go along with the two words I have been given, the pale faces and high brows along with the dark lips.

Ideas

For my two words my first impressions are that my look would be quite creepy, dark and mysterious like an evil magician. With dark black eyes and lips, I didn't want my look to be scary but maybe like a glamorous evil.
I would like to use a girl as my model as I would like to have the eyebrows as a different feature, from recently learning how to block them out using soap I have had an idea of doing one of them and re drawing over  in a crazy design. I have also associated the look of a magician with a clown as they are outgoing with make up.

Although this is an extreme version of what I have been looking at I like the idea of the black eyes fading out and the higher and exaggerated eyebrow.

This again is a picture of the eyebrows after being blocked out and re drawn on.

Here are some images of me blocking out the eyebrows on my friend in class.

I found blocking out the eyebrows quite challenging, as its hard to get the colour completely out but I think with full make up and a re drawn eyebrow on it would look good and I'm excited to try out the full look on my model.

MAGIC POISON

Illamasqua are famous for their bold designs, colours and attention to detail. After a workshop with Spob and Mika from the Illamasqua team, we were given two words with two colours to create a look using these in half an hour. This was a really fun exercise and interesting to see what everyone produced.
One image is a fantasy based look generally quite dramatic and extravagant where as the other will be a beauty look using ideas from fantasy.
My two words are 'Magic' and 'Poison' for this project.
and my colours, Green, Red and Black.
